Information on new PCR testing for Protozoa and Pinworm (under Options)

The ICLAS Monitoring Center is now accepting orders for screening tests of feces of laboratory rodents for the following 4 microorganisms:

Test item: Aspiculuris tetraptera
Experimental animal species: mice and rats
Sample: frozen feces

Aspiculuris tetraptera is classified as a microbe in the category C, it might cause thickened intestinal wall in naturally infected mice and rats.

Test item: Syphacia obvelata
Experimental animal species: mice
Sample: frozen feces

Test item: Syphacia muris
Experimental animal species: rats
Sample: frozen feces

Test item: Entamoeba muris
Experimental animal species: mice and rats
Sample: frozen feces

Syphacia obvelata, Syphacia muris and Entamoeba muris are non-pathogenic microbes and classified as in the category E.
These are tested as an indicator to determine of the contamination status of the breeding environment.
